Chu Lai airport is an airport in Quang Nam province. The airfield was originally established during the Vietnam war.

Chu Lai Airport Viet Nam is located in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. Tam Nghia Commune, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam province, Vietnam. It is about 33km from Tam Ky city, the largest city in Quang Nam province. Sometimes, it is still called by its old name – Tam Ky airport. Bordering Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to the north and Dung Quat Economic Zone to the south, Chu Lai International Airport is a motivate development factor of these two zones.

In the war time, It was an air base of the South Vietnam and American Air Forces. Since 2005, It has been in use commercially with flights between Chu Lai and Tan Son Nhat International airport. As of 2008, with an area of 30 km² and the 3050 m long runway. It is the largest airfield in Vietnam in terms of area. It is now upgraded to be a civil airport allowed to receive regular flights, not regular, private aircraft, operating 12/24 hours. Flight operation at Chu Lai is a bridge for social economic development connecting Quang Nam and Quang Ngai Province to other parts of the country.
Now:
Nowadays, there are 3 domestic airlines served at Chu Lai namely Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air , and Pacific Airline. These airlines operate 34 domestic flights per week from HCM and Ha Noi to Chu Lai and vice versa. Besides domestic flights, there are also some international flights served here, mainly from Bangkok to Quang nam, Vien Chan to Quang nam, and Bac Kinh to Quang nam. On average, there are about more than 3 flights taking off and landing at this airport per day. At present, to make it easier for customers transfer to and from Chu Lai airport, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces have guaranteed to provide free shuttle service.
