It is said that a trip to central Vietnam is not complete without a trip to the stunning Lang Co Beach and surrounding Lang Co Bay area. It is an attractive island-like stretch of pristine white sands that has a tortoise lagoon on one side and 10 kilometers of beach front on the other. Situated in Central Vietnam between major destinations Hue and Da Nang, Lang Co Beach attracts many tourists each year due its inviting waters. There is accommodation available from $15 USD upwards for a double bed, to more luxurious accommodation.
It sits just 45 kilometers from Da Nang (45 minutes drive) and 71 kilometers from Hue (1.5 hours drive). The Lang Co Beach resort itself is more geared towards Vietnamese visitors, however people from all over the world go each year. High Season in Lang Co Beach is between April and July, where as August to December you can expect to see rain in this region. Between December and March it is also known to get chilly with the breeze coming from the northwest. The primary industry in Lang Co is fishing, offering some of the freshest catch that is then sold to restaurants in surrounding areas. Tourism also remains strong in the area economically. Where as there are no real specific attractions in Lang Co Beach besides the beach itself, there is a market in the middle of the village which people still find enjoyable to visit.
You can get to Lang Co Beach via taxi from Da Nang airport for around 450,000 VND, however for an additional 150,000 can request the taxi driver go via the famous Hai Van Pass, which will take additional time but is well worth it. It will also take around an hour via taxi to get from Hoi An to Lang Co Beach and cost approximately 700,00 VND. The Hai Van Pass was named in 2008 by Top Gears Jeremy Clarkson as “a deserted ribbon of perfection and one of the best coastal roads in the world”. All within an hour of Lang Co Beach are Bach Ma National Park, Elephant Springs and Ba Na Hills. Once in Lang Co, the best way to travel round is once again via taxi or bicycle.
